What to visit in Baena?

To discover Baena is to enter its streets and historic squares, get lost in the most remote ones and be surprised by the unique buildings that will be found along the entire route. Historic museum

It is located in the Casa de la Tercia, a large baroque building where today one of the most important collections of Roman statuary in the country can be admired. The Iberian zoomorphic figures, the hundreds of ex-votos, ceramics and coins are a great incentive for your visit.

Olive Grove and Oil Museum

The culture of the olive grove is intrinsically linked to Baena and in this Museum, located in a historic mill whose primitive tools are still preserved, you will also be able to learn about the development of this crop, the production systems and the characteristics that distinguish one of the most important oils famous of the world

Plaster cave

One of the most relevant natural monuments in Andalusia is the Cueva del Yeso de Baena. Inside there are several lakes and gypsum formations of great beauty, being of special interest the colony of bats and the microfauna that are housed in it, with several unique species in the world.

Easter Museums

Holy Week in Baena, in the process of being declared of International Tourist Interest, has two places where you can learn about its history and art. On the one hand, the Interpretation Center managed by the Association of Brotherhoods, in an 18th century manor house, and on the other, the Nazarene Museum, in the church of San Francisco, where this brotherhood is based.

Vadomojón Reservoir

Place of Vadomojón, s/n

With a capacity of 163 hm³ and 782 ha, this reservoir is one of the most important in the Guadalquivir basin. Located in the proximities of the district between the provinces of Córdoba and Jaén, it is of special importance for the irrigation of the adjoining municipalities, and it is also possible to practice fishing and other recreational and sports activities.

Baena and district of Albendín
